Are You My Mother?: A Comic Drama by Alison Bechdel
It was a birthday present so i’m a couple months late getting started with it, but i’m really looking forward to it. I immensely enjoyed her first memoir about her childhood, relationship with her closeted father, her coming out and his eventual suicide, entitled Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic (US link) (UK link). This one is another memoir, this time about her relationship with her mother. They are both comics (the best kind of memoir IMO, AKA “graphic memoir”).
Alison Bechdel is also the author of Dykes to Watch Out For (a comic strip) and she is the brain behind the Bechdel Test.
