I understand what the OP is saying. It’s sad that people who are supposed to be open minded would attack an opinion so quickly without thinking about what could be learned from it.

You need to go back to 1985 before anyone, anyone at all had pulled the oh-so-clever “how can you call yourself open minded when you have opinion about opinion??” trick.

Open-mindedness is about being able to accept when you are wrong, not about treating the tired farts of second-wave solipsism with respect.  Why don’t you open your mind to the idea that trans people are not minstrel performers, and are certainly not obligated to sit around and politely explain otherwise, and call me in the morning.
