Personal FAQ

I created this blog to discuss gender, sexuality, body politics and related issue from the very personal (that is, to do with me) to the universal—and everything in between. Why? Because even within the purportedly liberal, tolerant field of gender studies, misconceptions abound, taboos are upheld and those on the periphery are ignored. It’s got to stop.

I want to address those issues within the field of GS that, though they are hugely important, get fewer column inches than they should.
I hope to publicise the areas that so many feminists (among others) would prefer to ignore in such a way that they will no longer be ignored.
This blog also reflects my interests as a researcher in this area, so expect to read a lot about prostitution, transgender issues, HIV/AIDS, female body image—and so much more.
